It's new

This year, ECGRA will award a total of $60,000 — a 100% increase in grants from 2011! In order to help participants concentrate their planning and outreach efforts, the upload and voting periods have been reduced to less than three weeks each.

We've also incorporated a few voting changes. This year, voters may only vote once per category ($5k, $10k, $15k) during the entire 2^1/2 week voting period. No more daily sign-ins or voting. Plus, look for an email verification process, and watch for more communitywide updates on UChoose projects and vote tallies.

Modeled after the nationally recognized Pepsi Refresh Project, the 2011 ECGRA UChoose Grants gave voters a chance to choose how ECGRA invested $30,000. 47 Erie County-based nonprofit organizations participated in the online program and more than 5,800 voters cast their votes to determine the inaugural UChoose awardees: Boy Scouts of America, the French Creek Council ($5,000), Saint Luke School ($10,000), and Erie City Mission ($15,000).
